Lolita is a 1 year old female Old English Sheepdog who was imported into New Zealand when her owners moved here.
Sadly Lolita was run over by a car and fractured her right tibia and fibula (lower hind leg bones) into multiple pieces.
She was placed on intravenous fluids to help her through the shock of the severe injury, given pain relief and her leg was bandaged to keep it stable until she went into surgery.
Dr Robert Mills performed the surgery on Lolita assisted by our wonderful vet nurse Jenna. A plate was affixed to the tibia and 10 screws placed. This will hold all the fragments together while the healing process occurs.
Lolita is progressing exceptionally well. A few more weeks of rest and she will be back to full health.
