Abbie joined the NP Vet Group team after completing her certificate in vet nursing at Otago Polytechnic in 2004. In addition to the standard vet nursing work, she has completed additional training in dog behaviour and is also one of the trainers at our puppy school. Abbie was recently amazed by a particular case. A dog was brought into the clinic on the verge of death due to a stomach complication. She worked with a team of seven other vets and vet nurses to revive the dog and perform emergency surgery to address the issue. The dog walked out of the clinic two days later, much to everyone’s delight. On the weekends, Abbie can usually be found at dressage competitions with her team of horses or indulging in her guilty pleasure – enjoying fine chocolate!
